General Manager, Conference & Events, SG1 Hertfordshire, Β£55k

Our client is looking for a passionate and experienced General Manager to join the team at their stunning site.
This prestigious venue, based in Hertfordshire, provides catering & hospitality for the public as well as numerous weddings, high-scale events, and conferences.

The role:

  1. Managing and supporting a core team with motivation and enthusiasm.
  2. Key liaison for all clients, working with them to manage and exceed expectations.
  3. Oversee and manage the operational team – driving the business and upselling where possible.
  4. Responsible for labour, forecasting, and spending costs in line with targets and budgets.
  5. Managing staffing levels for events by planning ahead.
  6. Developing and managing the client relationship as a whole.

What we’re looking for:

  1. An experienced General Manager with a proven background within Hospitality and Events.
  2. Highly experienced in Management and Leadership – proven ability in managing large teams.
  3. Successful within high-quality conference and event catering.
  4. Passionate about getting the best out of people and maximizing commercial opportunities.
  5. Strong communication skills – able to engage and interact with a variety of people at all levels.
  6. Flexible in approach to working hours/days.
  7. Financially minded – have a good understanding of report writing and financial management.
  8. Able to work under pressure and to deadlines whilst remaining calm and level-headed.
  9. Open-minded with a can-do, positive approach and an analytical approach to problem-solving.
