We are seeking an experienced and proactive
HR Manager to lead and deliver a comprehensive HR service across our organisation – 500 people + contractors, c 15 sites.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated HR professional to partner with managers, lead people‑focused initiatives, and ensure best practice across all aspects of the full employee lifecycle.
This is a full time, office based role, on site at our Head Office in Ardleigh, Essex, with occasional travel to sites.
Applicants should have their own transport available to travel to sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional HR advice and support to managers and employees.
- Manage employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance issues.
- Lead recruitment and onboarding activities to attract and retain top talent.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support learning and development initiatives across the organisation, including apprenticeships.
- Monitor and report on key HR metrics and workforce trends.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
- Lead and contribute to HR projects and organisational change initiatives.
- Promote employee engagement, wellbeing, and an inclusive workplace culture.
About You
- Proven experience in a generalist HR management role.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience writing and implementing policies.
- Experience training and coaching colleagues and managers.
- Knowledge and experience in hospitality business is strongly advantageous.
- Experience in TUPE, organisational change and transformation (including redundancies).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Experience managing employee relations cases.
- Knowledge of sponsorship practices and requirements.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience supporting multi‑site, group level and C‑suite.
- Understanding of payroll to link with colleagues.
- CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualification (or equivalent experience) desirable.
- A proactive, solution‑focused approach and the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.
