We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our Finance Department.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic finance leader to play a key role in shaping the future of a successful and expanding group. Working closely with the Managing Director, CEO, and Board of Directors, you will influence major business decisions, drive financial performance, support growth initiatives, and help deliver our long-term vision.
Flying Trade Group and Surya Hotels are privately owned businesses with a diverse portfolio and ambitious plans for the future. Surya Hotels operates a collection of distinctive hotels and hospitality venues across the UK, combining historic character with exceptional guest experiences.
As we continue to invest in our people, properties, and operations, we are looking for a CFO who can provide strong financial leadership, identify opportunities for growth, and support the ongoing success of the Group.
This is a full time, office based role, on site at our Head Office in Ardleigh, Essex. Applicants should have their own transport available to travel to sites.
Key Responsibilities as our Chief Financial Officer:
- Lead the financial management of Flying Trade Group and Surya Hotels, ensuring strong reporting, governance, and controls.
- Develop and deliver the Group's financial strategy to drive growth, profitability, and long-term value.
- Partner with the Board on investment opportunities, acquisitions, and key business decisions.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, treasury management, and financial planning across the Group.

Provide financial guidance on acquisitions, investments, and strategic growth opportunities.
- Drive commercial performance through financial analysis, reporting, and business insight.
- Ensure compliance with all taxation, audit, statutory, and regulatory requirements.

Maintain strong financial controls, risk management, and governance across the Group
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team while building strong external stakeholder relationships.

Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting, and business performance data.
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Previous experience as a CFO, Finance Director, or senior finance leader.
- Experience within hospitality, hotels, leisure, or a complex multi-site business.

Strong commercial and strategic thinking.
- Experience supporting business growth, acquisitions, and investment decisions.
- A proven track record of improving profitability and business performance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working closely with Boards and senior leadership teams.
- The ability to balance operational priorities with long-term business objectives.
