We're looking for a passionate and ambitious Chef de Partie to join the Kitchen team at The George Hotel, Colchester. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills, take ownership of your section, and be part of a team where creativity, personality, and great food are at the heart of everything we do.

The George Hotel, located on Colchester High Street in Essex, has been at the heart of England's oldest recorded town for over 500 years. The hotel offers 49 heritage rooms and suits, alongside 44 contemporary rooms in St Nicholas. From our vibrant bar and restaurant to our recently opened Sip in Secret bar, no two days are the same, providing plenty of variety and opportunities to grow as a Chef De Partie.
As our Chef de Partie, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including:
- Assisting with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of menu items to the highest standard.
- Taking responsibility for running your own section once fully trained and confident.
- Ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of your section to consistently deliver excellent food.
- Maintaining the highest standards of food safety, health, hygiene, and cleanliness.
- Supporting the Sous Chef and Head Chef, working collaboratively to deliver outstanding dishes in a timely manner.
- Contributing ideas and creativity to help enhance our menus and guest experience.
- Has a genuine passion for food and flavour.
