Summary
This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone who is passionate about sustainability and doesn’t mind getting stuck into both reporting and administrative tasks. You will play a key part in supporting our sustainability initiatives across the business, ensuring we meet internal targets and comply with external reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support the collection, tracking, and analysis of sustainability data and business measures.
- Strong working knowledge of SBTi, Net Zero Targets, SECR (Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting), EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility), and ESOS (Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme) frameworks.
- Proven experience in sustainability reporting, carbon accounting, and regulatory compliance within the UK.
- Experience with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 14001) and environmental management systems.
- Maintain and update internal sustainability reports.
- Respond to external reporting requests, including ONS surveys and industry data requests.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and initiatives that drive sustainability across the business.
- Coordinate inputs for external sustainability disclosures across the Annual Report and other sustainability reporting outputs, ensuring clear ownership, timelines, and quality control.
- Collect, validate, analyse, and interpret sustainability data and narrative inputs from business units and corporate functions to produce verifiable, quality reporting.
- Prepare content aligned to applicable standards and frameworks (including ASRS and relevant international frameworks) and support the uplift of disclosure maturity over time.
- Support with sustainability issues, including waste management and recycling, energy usage and carbon reduction, transport and travel, nature protection and biodiversity.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accuracy and consistency in sustainability information.
- Workplace climate advocacy.
- Carry out any other duties reasonably assigned which are commensurate with the role.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sustainability or environmental management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proficiency in office software such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Ability to analyze data related to environmental impact.
- Preferred experience with project management tools.
- Knowledge of supply chain sustainability practices is advantageous.
