Your New Role
You will be an expert in many operational process areas of a business (Finance, Manufacture, Service/Rental, Supply Chain etc), coupled with the expert use and configuration of ERP system(s).
Although this role with be as afunctional specialist, you will also have the opportunity to touch on elements of other ERP specialist roles, such as ERP Implementation Specialist, ERP Software Specialist, ERP Technical Specialist, ERP Finance Specialist.
As one of the ERP Functional Specialists, you will map and review the existing business process, analyse potential improvements, and recommend how these can be changed or improved in any way by reviewing and suggesting alternatives, and then documenting how this can be achieved. You will train the business in best practice and operational efficiency; you will manage and maintain the base data configuration of the platform in line with our corporate controls.
The functional specialist will use information along with industry standards and specialisation to judge the best solutions for the business. Business management is a complex endeavour with many factors changing the course of a decision. It is an ERP functional specialist role to make sure as many factors are addressed pre-emptively as possible.
This is a client facing role where you will have strong business operational experience, coupled with knowledge or a desire to learn ERP platforms.

The Information Technology family provides, maintains, optimises and expands the business systems needed to support business operation, communication, data collection and management, decision making and management of customer relationships. It innovates and digitally transforms business process. It safeguards our business, customer and personal data.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Providing client support, including triage and oversight of any 3rd party vendors.
Analyse business processes and requirements.
Configure and implement ERP systems to meet client needs.
Provide training to end-users.
Document functional specifications and test plans.
Collaborate with technical teams to customize ERP solutions.
Conduct system testing and ensure data integrity.
Offer post-implementation support and troubleshooting.
Own continuous improvement initiatives to develop the business and systems.

The Experience, Qualifications and Skills You Will Have

Business Process Mapping
Demonstrated experience in analysing, mapping, and optimising business processes across departments. Ability to document current (\”as-is\”) and future (\”to-be\”) workflows, identifying inefficiencies and recommending improvements to support business transformation and system implementations.

Requirements Analysis
Skilled in gathering, validating, and prioritising functional and non-functional business requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and document reviews. Capable of translating business needs into clear specifications for technical teams and vendors.

ERP Systems (IFS, INFOR, Microsoft Dynamics)
Hands-on experience with ERP platforms, particularly IFS, INFOR, and Microsoft Dynamics. Involved in end-to-end ERP lifecycle activities such as implementation, configuration, upgrades, and enhancements. Strong understanding of core ERP modules such as finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and HR.

System Configuration
Proficient in configuring system settings to align with business requirements. Ability to work closely with vendors, developers, and users to test and validate system changes while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

User Training
Responsible for designing and delivering end-user training tailored to varying levels of technical knowledge. Ability to develop training materials and conduct workshops or one-on-one coaching sessions to ensure successful system adoption.

Documentation
Adept at producing high-quality documentation including business requirements documents, process maps, functional specifications, user guides, test scripts, and training materials. Ensures documentation is clear, accurate, and accessible for ongoing system support and audits.

Problem-Solving

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to investigate system and process issues. Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.

Data Analysis
Experience in extracting, analysing, and interpreting data to support decision-making and identify trends or issues. Ability to create dashboards, reports, and data visualisations using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or other analytics platforms.

Essential Criteria:

Degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
Proven experience with ERP systems in IFS, INFOR or Microsoft Dynamics.
Strong understanding of business processes and functional areas.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven effective communication skills – ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Desirable Criteria:
Business experience in a similar role.
Working knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL for querying and managing data in relational databases. Ability to write and troubleshoot scripts to support data migration, reporting, or system integration efforts.
