Infrastructure Team Lead

Here at Survitec, we are currently recruiting for an Infrastructure Team Lead to join our IT team remotely. This is a senior leadership role within the Infrastructure function, reporting directly to the Director of Technology Infrastructure and Cyber Security. You will provide strategic direction and operational oversight across the enterprise infrastructure estate, while remaining hands-on in the design, delivery, and support of core platforms.

As Infrastructure Team Lead, you will lead a distributed team of engineers, act as the senior technical escalation point, and personally contribute to complex technical initiatives, major incidents, improvement programmes, and transformation activities. The role forms part of a global on-call escalation pool and aligns primarily to EMEA business hours, with staggered working patterns to ensure effective operational coverage.

Key responsibilities for the Infrastructure Team Lead role include but are not limited to:

• Providing strategic and operational leadership for the infrastructure estate, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across all platforms
• Remaining hands-on in the design, build, and optimisation of infrastructure solutions across cloud and on-premise environments
• Leading, mentoring, and developing a distributed team of infrastructure engineers, setting technical standards and driving continuous improvement
• Acting as the senior technical and service escalation point for critical infrastructure and security incidents, ensuring BAU service stability
• Chairing major incident reviews and driving root-cause remediation and long-term service improvement
• Contributing to large-scale infrastructure programmes including cloud transformation, network modernisation, and data centre strategy
• Defining and maintaining infrastructure standards, governance frameworks, and operational best practices in partnership with Architecture and Security teams
• Ensuring robust monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities are in place and regularly tested
• Overseeing compliance reporting, audit readiness, and remediation activities in line with regulatory and industry standards
• Managing strategic relationships with key vendors and outsourced service providers
• Leading capacity planning, lifecycle management, and investment planning to ensure the infrastructure remains scalable and future-ready
• Driving automation, service optimisation, and cost-control initiatives
• Providing executive-level reporting on performance, risks, roadmap progress, and operational health

• Lead enterprise infrastructure across complex, multi-region environments
• Expert in Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud architectures
• Advanced Microsoft stack knowledge (Windows Server, AD, M365, Exchange, Defender, Intune, SCCM, automation)
• Design and deliver secure, scalable, highly available platforms
• Drive large-scale transformation (cloud, network, platform consolidation)
• Lead major incidents and problem management
• Manage strategic vendor and supplier relationships
• Apply strong ITIL and governance practices
• Influence senior stakeholders and technical teams
• Build and lead high-performing, matrixed teams
