Your New Role

As our new Business Development Manager, you will be a driving force in expanding Hansen Protection’s position in the Defence, SAR, and Emergency Services sectors. You will combine commercial, technical, and strategic capabilities to support our sales organisation and secure new long‑term contracts.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across Defence, SAR and Emergency Services.
  • Build strong relationships with procurement bodies, end users, integrators, and strategic partners.
  • Map multi‑year pipelines, including contract cycles, incumbents, and pre‑engagement strategies.
  • Lead and coordinate tender responses.
  • Develop compelling value propositions and competitive strategies.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Support sales teams with presentations, demos, product training, and customer meetings.
  • Provide market intelligence, competitor insights, and strategic recommendations.
  • Support in finding quality trusted third part suppliers to add to our portfolio.

Skills

  • Background in tenders, bids, frameworks, or government procurement.
  • Technical understanding of PPE, survival systems or rescue gear.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel regularly.

Experience and qualification

Experience in Defence, SAR, Emergency Services or related fields. Former military/SAR service is an advantage.
