Job Description

Product Technical Trainer Job Family – Engineering. This family is responsible for creating everything from the initial concept to the final design of Survitec products. They develop ideas for new products and prototypes, as well as evolving the design details of established ranges. They deeply understand the safety needs of Survitec customers and deliver innovation that captures the design strategy and brand values. They integrate innovative functional solutions with world‑class creativity to support Survitec’s vision to become the most trusted provider of safety services.

Job Summary

As a highly skilled Technical Trainer in this multifunctional role, you will be primarily responsible for teaching internal and external customers on survival system design, operation and maintenance processes across our full product range. Additionally, you’ll support the post design services team with carrying out engineering tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver technical training programs according to organisational requirements.
  • Develop and update course content and teaching materials for training sessions.
  • Conduct seminars, workshops, individual training sessions.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the training program and make necessary improvements.
  • Help trainees to develop practical skills and knowledge by providing hands‑on training.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the latest technological trends and developments.
  • Prepare and implement training strategies and schedules.
  • Evaluate trainee performance, provide feedback and assistance to improve their technical understanding.
  • Manage training resources and equipment, ensuring all items are in working order and ready for use in training sessions.
  • Work in collaboration with the technical author to ensure customer manuals are updated and current.
  • Support Post Design Services and engineering teams to deliver technical tasks.
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gains or maintains external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfil personal potential.
  • Maintain an in‑depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Essential Criteria

  • Must have a passport, and a full driving licence. Global and UK travel is essential to the role.
  • Proven experience as a Trainer or maintainer, holding a recognised civilian or military instructor qualification.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey technical concepts in an easy to understand manner, catering to a variety of learning styles.
  • Interpersonal skills to create a comfortable learning environment and to interact with students of diverse backgrounds and technical proficiency.
  • Problem‑solving skills to identify learning difficulties and adapt teaching methods accordingly, as well as troubleshooting technical issues that may arise during training sessions.
  • Patience and a supportive approach to assist trainees in grasping concepts and techniques, which they may find challenging.
  • Organisational skills to prepare class materials, create lesson plans, coordinate training schedules, and manage class records.
  • Ability to keep abreast of new technologies and trends in the industry, to update the curriculum and provide current and relevant training.
