The University of Surrey is a global community of ideas and people, dedicated to life-changing education and research.

We are ambitious and have a bold vision of what we want to achieve - shaping ourselves into one of the best universities in the world, which we are achieving through the talents and endeavour of every employee.

Our culture empowers people to achieve this aim and to collectively, and individually, make a real difference.

The role

We are seeking to appoint a pro-active and well organised individual to provide professional administrative support to staff and students in the School of Engineering.

About you

Possessing excellent organisational skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, you will ideally have a background in providing professional administrative support to a broad range of people, ideally in a Higher Education setting.

We are looking for a team player with good IT skills and the ability to quickly learn a range of new systems. We are seeking a โ€œcan doโ€ attitude and enthusiasm to be a team player.

You will be acting as a key point of contact for internal and external enquiries to the School, and therefore good written and verbal communication skills are essential to the role.

In addition to a competitive salary you will receive 25 days annual leave, with additional days for Bank Holidays and University closure days. We offer a generous pension, flexible working options including job share and blended home/campus working (dependent on work duties and after an agreed period of embedding & familiarisation), access to world-class leisure facilities on campus, a range of travel schemes and supportive family friendly benefits including an excellent on-site nursery.

At the University of Surrey, we are committed to providing an inclusive environment that offers equitable opportunities for all. We place great value on diversity and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. We are seeking to increase the diversity within our community and would particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups, such as people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and people with disabilities. We are proud to hold the Race Equality Charter, Athena Swan Charter, Disability Confident, Accessible and UK Workplace Equality Index.
