The Role & Key Responsibilities

This is an exciting role whereby the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of Witness Care Officers. As a first line supervisor you will train and support the team whose main responsibility it is to promote and support the concept of victim and witness care throughout the victim and witness journey.

You will jointly manage a team of 28 Witness Care Officers to ensure the team deliver a high standard of service provision under the Witness Charter & the Victims Code of Practice.

The role will include close partnership working with different Criminal Justice agencies including the Crown Prosecution Service and HMCTS.

This is an interesting and varied role that requires independent working practice and a sustained level of responsibility as you will be managing your own team.

As the successful candidate you will assist the Unit Manager with the day to day running of the unit, motivating others to perform well, ensuring a high quality support service is provided by Surrey Police to Victims and Witnesses.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in the post the applicant will have well developed good interpersonal and verbal communication skills with previous experience in leading a team of people and working in an administrative role.

In order to succeed in these posts candidates must have IT experience as case management within the unit is computerised.

You must also have proven experience in prioritising responsibilities as well as the ability to be flexible and work as part of a team.

Please note we have two positions available:

x1 18 month Fixed Term Contract – Full time (36 hours per week)

x1 Permanent Contract – Part time (18 hours per week)
