Overview
The Billingshurst hub is run successfully by a team of volunteers who dedicate their time and skills to supporting the local community, liaising between the public and the police. You will be the first point of call to a member of the public coming into the hub and will be able to signpost them to the appropriate team or department within Sussex Police or make them aware that their concern is not a policing matter.
Responsibilities
- Liaising with the public who come into the Billinghurst hub.
- Supporting the local community in reporting a crime via the internet.
- Liaise with victims of crime and signpost them to the relevant departments/agencies.
- Give out advice to the local community and again signposting as appropriate
- Act as a Sussex Police presence in the community.
- Support the local PSCO and NPT in the area in planning community workshops where advice on crime prevention or other crime types such as fraud can be given to protect the community.
- Administration tasks.
- Good understanding of IT
- Understanding and sympathetic to various problems.
