The predicted salary is between 44000 - 62000 £ per year.

The role will be based at Surrey Police HQ (Guildford) with flexible working offered including from home for part of the week. Travel will be required to other police sites within both Surrey and Sussex including Sussex Police HQ (Lewes). This role is within a collaborated team across Surrey Police and Sussex Police, whilst continuing to be two separate legal entities/employers with different terms and conditions. We have two exciting opportunities for experienced project managers to join the Joint Surrey & Sussex Police Change Delivery team to manage the delivery of one of two Surrey Police Programmes:

  • Operation Solve Programme: This is an extensive review of numerous areas of the policing operating model across Surrey Police to ensure staffing levels and structure deliver right person right time and delivering an outstanding service to victims of crime.
  • Police Contact Transformation Programme: This is a review of numerous areas of the contact servicing model focusing on shift pattern models, workforce mix and optimisation of different servicing channels.

Both involve the design and implementation of a range of business change and technology-enabled projects aimed to improve the service offered to the public and to optimise the future service provision. Working under direction of the Programme Manager, this role will play a key part in shaping and delivering the programme. This role sits within the wider Change Delivery team, who support local, bilateral and regional change activity to ensure that both forces can provide efficient and cost-effective policing services. Skills & Experience

Day-to-day duties and key responsibilities:

  • Managing the tasks and schedule of the programme and projects within, ensuring their successful delivery.
  • Ensuring programme outcomes are understood and communicated, agreeing and monitoring key deliverables and milestones, establishing resource requirements, identifying and managing risks and reporting progress to stakeholders as required.
  • Responsible for producing and delivering project management products and control documents in accordance with corporate standards, including regular reporting to the Project Board and the Portfolio Management Office.
  • Manage the coordination and tracking of time, budget, and resources, and delegate tasks across the programme team.
  • Manage the RAID log to identify, document and evaluate risks and issues associated with the delivery of the project, in accordance with the force risk & issue management methodology, ensuring an appropriate risk management strategy is in place, recommending appropriate risk responses and issue mitigation plans to the SRO/project board, and that these are escalated to the force level governance boards as appropriate.
  • Working closely with the project Subject Matter Experts, key stakeholders and programme team members to ensure consistency of approach and alignment to the programme objectives and design principles.
  • Attend weekly meetings to gain programme updates and insights and monitor the tasks and schedule with the Project stream and work package Leads.

Please note that this role attracts a market supplement of £4,000 per annum and we are seeking a candidate to fulfil a 2-year contract.
