From your very first day, you will be part of a policing family that makes a real difference. Your work will directly support the protection of vulnerable people, help prevent harm, and play an important role in keeping Surrey safe. As a Criminal Justice Caseworker, you will be at the heart of the criminal justice process. You will manage police case files from start to finish, ensuring cases progress smoothly, accurately and within required timeframes. Your work will help victims receive justice, support police officers in their investigations, and maintain public confidence in policing.

We are looking for motivated individuals who take ownership of their work and use their own initiative to proactively manage cases through the criminal justice system to successful conclusion.

What you will do:

  • You will take ownership of live cases, proactively managing them through the criminal justice system to successful conclusion.
  • You will prepare, maintain and update digital case files in line with legal requirements and national procedures.
  • You will work closely with police officers and supervisors, as well as partner organisations such as the Crown Prosecution Service, Courts and Probation Services.
  • You will respond confidently to enquiries by phone, email and written correspondence.
  • You will monitor deadlines, resolve issues that delay progress, and ensure information is accurate, complete and shared on time.

Skills & Experience:

  • You will have proven ability of working to strict deadlines, confidently managing a high personal workload while balancing competing demands with minimal supervision.
  • You will be comfortable using information technology, including Microsoft Office or equivalent systems, and have experience of accurately collating, maintaining and retrieving digital records and databases to a high standard.
  • You will demonstrate strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with a customer‑focused approach when handling enquiries and communicating professionally with police colleagues and external partner organisations, both verbally and in writing.
  • You will be able to identify potential issues such as missing or incomplete documentation and take proactive steps to resolve them.
  • You will show attention to detail and accountability when maintaining police systems and records, alongside a willingness to embrace change as technology and processes evolve.
  • You will also be able to quickly develop a working knowledge of organisational structures, administrative procedures and evidential requirements.
