The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.

The Role & Key Responsibilities

From your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference. It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe. For the role, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the integrity, longevity and preservation of all documentation stored at the site.
  • Carrying out physical activities to load, move and store records, using manual and mechanical methods.
  • Allocating storage space and ensuring physical care of the documents.
  • Providing and maintaining an efficient and effective storage and retrieval process.
  • Ensuring the security of the site and those who visit.
  • Assisting with the safe and secure destruction of documents based on the retention time frames for documents.
  • Communicating with all departments across the Force to identify the most practical and safe storage processes in line with Data Protection legislation.
  • Working as part of a small team, supporting all members with enquiries, problem solving and decision making.

Skills & Experience

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent with English and Mathematics at Grade C or above.
  • Previous experience working in a records management environment however full training will be provided.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and as an individual.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise your own workload.
  • Good IT literacy, particularly Microsoft Products.
  • A full driving license and use of a vehicle.
