GBH Law is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor to join our growing practice.
Location: Hybrid (flexible working with offices based in Godalming)
Hours: Full or Part-Time considered (flexible schedule to suit the right candidate)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and commercially aware employment solicitor to join our team, supporting a varied portfolio of clients with their employment matters and providing strategic advice that aligns with their business goals. You will work directly with clients as well as supporting other members of our team with matters which require specialist employment-law input.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law with minimal supervision including:
- Drafting and advising on employment contracts, service agreements, handbooks, policies and procedures
- Advising on severance terms, including at executive level, and preparing settlement agreements
- Advising in relation to disciplinary and grievance procedures, capability processes, ill-health absences and termination of employment including redundancy processes
- Providing advice on family friendly rights
- Advising on data protection issues and data subject access requests
- Handling disputes in the Employment Tribunal including unfair and wrongful dismissal claims, discrimination and whistleblowing claims
- Advising in relation to disputes regarding breach of confidentiality and post-termination restrictions
- Supporting our corporate team with employment elements of transactions and due diligence processes
- Managing client relationships and mentoring and supporting more junior team members
- Engaging in business development
- Helping to shape the continued growth of our employment practice
About You
- Qualified solicitor (at least 5 years PQE or equivalent)
- Strong employment law experience and excellent technical legal skills
- Ability to ascertain a clear understanding of clients’ needs quickly and effectively
- Excellent communicator who can explain legal issues clearly and simply and adapt their style to deal with a variety of clients
- A strategic commercial thinker with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
- Strong interpersonal skills and a client-first mindset
- Comfortable working autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
