About the Role: This is a fantastic opportunity for newly qualified or experienced Registered Building Inspectors to join the Council's Building Control Team. You will join an efficient and pro-active team of professionals to ensure the continuation of a first-class Building Control Service. Surrey Heath Borough comprises of a mix of residential, high end residential and commercial developments within 36.5 sq miles.
About You: We are looking for Registered Building Inspectors to manage an area within the Borough and assist the team as a whole to maintain its current outstandingly high level of service. Duties will include ensuring decisions on applications are made within the statutory period, undertaking site inspections so that works carried out on site comply with the building regulations, inspecting Dangerous Structures, providing out of hours and office cover. We are seeking applicants with a good level of literacy and numeracy together with excellent IT skills. You will also need to be committed to delivering a first-class customer focused service in a competitive environment and marketing the department and Local Authority Building Control (LABC). The ability to make clear concise and accurate decisions on the spot and under pressure is essential. You will ideally be a member of the CABE, RICS or CIOB. A current full UK driving licence and daily access to a car for business purposes are required, for which expenses will be paid.
