The Position
As people and culture coordinator you will provide high-quality operational HR support across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring seamless processes, accurate data management, and a positive employee experience. This role acts as the first point of contact for HR queries, supports recruitment and onboarding, and maintains HR systems and documentation to ensure compliance and efficiency.
What you'll do
- Manage the full employee lifecycle from induction to exit, ensuring processes are efficient, accurate, and values-led.
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding, including exit interviews, equipment return, and system access.
- Monitor and manage staff absences, including annual leave, lieu days, and sickness.
- Coordinate maternity leave and other absence-related administration.
- Ensure all staff are correctly vetted prior to joining, including DBS checks and right-to-work documentation updating the Single Central Register as needed.
- Act as the ‘go-to' expert for the Club’s HR system and data integrity.
- Maintain up-to-date employee records and organisational structure.
- Manage the HR inbox.
- Create and distribute agreed reports to support workforce insights and decision-making.
- Conduct regular audits of HR documents and processes to ensure compliance.
- Draft job adverts, schedule interviews, and ensure a positive candidate experience.
- Support onboarding logistics and ensure all new starters are welcomed effectively.
- Produce and distribute employee letters and communications, maintaining accurate mailing lists.
- Update and maintain the Staff Club Hub, ensuring content is engaging and relevant.
- Take accurate minutes of meetings, including investigations and formal HR processes.
- Work closely with Safeguarding, EDI, and staffing operations teams to ensure alignment and compliance.
- Undertake ad hoc HR projects as required to support the wider People & Culture strategy.
Requirements
Essential
- Experience in a generalist HR or HR administration role.
- Strong understanding of HR processes, absence management, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in HR systems and data management.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Experience coordinating recruitment and onboarding processes.
Desirable
- Experience maintaining HR platforms and generating workforce reports.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and EDI practices.
- Previous experience as a DBS ID Checker or similar vetting role.
- Experience supporting internal communications or employee engagement initiatives.
