The Officer will be responsible for identifying and maximising opportunities for significant participation growth in Surrey, driving forward all our Women & Girls participation programmes, and playing a key role in ensuring that cricket achieves its ambition of being the most inclusive team sport. This role can be based at Kia Oval (London) or at George Abbot School (Guildford).

Responsibilities

  • Programme-manage the Women & Girls Operational Plan, overseeing all Women & Girls initiatives run by SCF and leading the Women & Girls cross‑functional working group.
  • Identify target clubs to work with to create new sustainable Girls' sections.
  • Link these clubs with local schools and support the introduction of Chance to Shine coaching to support cricket development during the school day.
  • Support these clubs by introducing National Programmes and other suitable initiatives to ensure these new girls' sections continue to grow and are sustainable into the future.
  • Collaborate with the Communities, Schools & Young People and Clubs & Leagues teams to ensure female participation and engagement continues to grow, and influence SCF staff to ensure Women and Girls are considered in all initiatives run by the Foundation.
  • Identify clubs that are targets for new Women's sections and work with clubs to introduce and develop these sections.
  • Lead on all new Women & Girls initiatives proposed by the ECB and other stakeholders and take responsibility for implementing them into 'business as usual'.
  • Be the 'Thought Leader' on all matters pertaining to Women & Girls Cricket and a source of insight and information on the Women & Girls cricket landscape to underpin the work of the Foundation.
  • Record and monitor all metrics regarding Women & Girls participation to ensure growth continues and launch appropriate initiatives to counter any concerns regarding Women & Girls participation levels.
  • Work with the Marketing & Communications Officer to create Women & Girls content for socials and marketing programmes.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of Women & Girls cricket.
  • Project management experience or strong understanding of project management, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Experience of working in sports development.
  • Experience of developing relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Creativity and the ability to generate, explore and implement new ideas.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to comprehend data trends.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Time management skills.

Desirable Skills

  • A keen interest in cricket.
  • A full driving licence with access to own transport.
  • Experience of coaching cricket.

Additional Requirements

This role requires flexibility with working hours and locations across Surrey. Applicants must meet safeguarding requirements, including a satisfactory ECB DBS check, hold (or be willing to obtain) First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications, and have the right to work in the UK.
