- Carry out match‑day duties such as setting up practice facilities/fielding nets, positioning boundary rope, setting out fielding discs, positioning sightscreens, setting up advertising boards, sweeping wicket at interval, repairing foot holes, and re‑marking wicket.
- Handle all aspects of cricket ground preparation and renovation, including deploying rain covers, mowing, marking out, and operating pedestrian and tractor‑mounted machinery.
- Collaborate with our team of groundstaff to enable the smooth running of matchdays and non‑matchdays.
- Perform tidying and litter picking, strimming and hedge cutting, and routine maintenance of turfcare machinery.
- Maintain health and safety in the workplace and comply with company procedures and guidelines.
- Perform any other duties consistent with grounds preparation at an industry‑leading sporting venue.
The Person
- Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to delivering work of the highest standard with attention to detail and pride in presentation.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Flexible and proactive approach to working hours, including availability for evenings and weekends in line with the demands of the cricket season.
- Genuine passion for sport and a clear understanding of the operational requirements of cricket fixtures and seasonal demands.
- Good turf skills and ideally some experience of preparing a cricket wicket.
- Good horticultural knowledge.
- Turf science qualification or equivalent desirable but not essential.
- Ability to carry out basic maintenance on equipment.
- Spraying qualification desirable.
Benefits
- Competitive salary.
- 5% Club Bonus Scheme.
- 23 days holiday, increasing to 28 days based on length of service.
- Non‑Contributory Pension scheme / Private Health Care.
- Membership for domestic games, tickets for international games, and more.
