As a Senior Practitioner, you will work with the Team Manager to provide positive leadership and contribute to the development and success of the service. You will case hold high risk young people with complex needs while supervising a small number of Personal Advisors. You will work directly with care-experienced young people to transition to adulthood and ensure they have a clear Pathway Plan.

You will collaborate with partners to help our care-experienced young people achieve in education, employment and training. Your day-to-day work will include visits to young people, multi-agency meetings and maintaining records according to service practice standards. You will support the team during Team Manager absences and act as line manager for Personal Advisors with support from the Team and Service Manager.

You may lead projects such as strengthening links with District and Borough Councils and ensuring care-experienced young people are in education, employment and training. The team works within the wider Corporate Parenting Strategy and pledges to our young people. Our aim is to help care-experienced young people reach their potential, leaving no one behind.

Surrey County Council is undergoing Local Government Reorganisation, moving to new unitary councils in April 2027. The role will transfer with current terms and conditions to one of the new councils. Join our dynamic team and shape the future of local government.
