Overview
As Digital and Data Manager for the Surrey Pension Team, you will drive digital and data improvements to deliver secure, compliant, and innovative services. You will modernise systems, challenge processes, and lead data strategy to enable informed decisions and better resident outcomes. You will own reporting and analytics, foster a data-driven culture, and advise on supplier and tool investments. This role blends strategic influence with hands-on delivery in a hybrid, public-sector environment.

Responsibilities
- Lead digital and data improvements to enhance efficiency and outcomes for members, employers and stakeholders
- Codify and modernise processes and information systems, providing strategic challenge
- Investigate business problems and specify required changes to processes, information and technology
- Provide strategic leadership in data, driving best practices for decision-making
- Own operational reporting and analytics and promote a data-driven culture
- Advise on data usage and governance, and act as trusted advisor to senior leadership
- Support supplier-driven improvements and recommend investments in digital and data tools
- Line management of a Resources Officer across Digital and Data and Resources and Performance
Key requirements
- Proven leadership experience in digital or data roles
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication with non-technical leadership
- Strong understanding of data architecture and data governance, including database structures and API logic
- Expertise in analytical tools (Power BI, Tableau)
- Strong project management skills
- Experience in process improvement and identifying opportunities
- Experience owning relationships with key suppliers
