Overview
As an Adults Senior Lawyer, you will join a supportive in-house team delivering specialist legal guidance and representation for adult social care matters.
You will handle a varied caseload, including Court of Protection work, and provide clear, practical advice to the council and its partners.
The role blends contentious and non-contentious work with opportunities to mentor juniors and contribute to training.

Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of Court of Protection cases
- Provide advice on Ordinary Residence, MH Act s117 Aftercare, and NHS Continuing Health Care
- Advise Local Authority in inter-agency disputes
- Resolve and case-manage disputes
- Instruct and manage external legal service providers
- Run internal training and provide legal updates
- Lead/contribute at client meetings
- Advise Members and Senior Officers
- Supervise junior team members and ensure effective use of case management systems
- Contribute to development, training or mentoring of colleagues
- Key requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or FILEX with current practising certificate
- Experience in both contentious and non-contentious adult social care matters
- Ability to work with clients at all levels and provide clear, practical advice
- Experience in managing external legal service providers
