This full-time position has a starting salary of £47,142 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week. This is a 12-month secondment opportunity. Please discuss with your current Line Manager before submitting your application.

We are excited to be hiring a new Employment Reward Consultant to join our fantastic team based in Woodhatch Place, Reigate. This role is open to hybrid working and as a team we split our time between collaborating with colleagues in the office for two days per week, and working from home.

About the Role

As an Employment Reward Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our pay, reward and benefits frameworks are compliant, forward-looking and aligned to organisational goals. Sitting within our People & Change function, you'll be part of a small, specialist team responsible for delivering high-quality advice, analysis and solutions across the Council.

You will work closely with colleagues across HR&OD, senior stakeholders, unions and wider services to ensure our reward policies support our values, culture and ambition to be an employer of choice.

In this varied and impactful role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing national pay awards, including Teachers, JNC and Soulbury
  • Supporting organisation-wide reward initiatives that enhance engagement, retention and employee experience
  • Managing our employee benefits platform and driving improvements to the overall reward offer
  • Coordinating monthly Reward Board meetings, providing insight, analysis and clear recommendations
  • Ensuring statutory reporting is accurate and completed on time
  • Reviewing additional payments to ensure fairness, consistency and policy compliance
  • Providing expert advice on job evaluation, job design and market benchmarking
  • Contributing to the development of pay, reward and recognition strategies, shaping the future of our approach

The role holder will need to have the willingness and ability to travel around the county (and occasionally beyond) to meet the demands of the role.
