Help us build our voice online.
We support people of all ages across Surrey with affordable counselling and mediation. We\βre looking for a Social Media Volunteer to help us develop our social presence and post regularly so more people can find support when they need it most.
What difference will you make?
This role will play a key part in helping Surrey Counselling & Mediation reach more people who need our support. By improving our social media presence, the volunteer will help us share information about our affordable counselling and mediation services, promote funded projects, and highlight the real impact our work has in the community.
At the moment, many clients find us through referrals or word of mouth. With a consistent and engaging social media presence, we\βll be able to reach new audiences β including people who may not know that help is available, as well as potential funders, partners and volunteers.
The volunteer\βs work will directly contribute to raising awareness, strengthening our reputation, and helping more people access emotional and relational support when they need it most. In short, their efforts will enable us to extend our reach, increase sustainability, and make a greater difference across Surrey.
What are we looking for?
- Comfortable on social platforms (especially Facebook & Instagram; LinkedIn experience welcome).
- Clear, friendly writing and an eye for tone and detail.
- Canva skills (or happy to learn) and a creative streak.
- Organised, self-motivated, and reliable. Experience planning content is a plus, not a must.
- UK-based and happy to volunteer remotely or pop into the office (if you\βd prefer).
- Ideally you will have at least three years\β experience in a similar role
What will you be doing?
- Plan a simple monthly content rhythm for our social media accounts.
- Create and schedule engaging posts (stories, graphics, short videos) that highlight our services, impact, and fundraising.
- Keep our pages active reply to comments/messages (where appropriate) and nurture the community.
- Track basic engagement and share quick ideas to improve what we do next.
- Work with staff/volunteers to gather short updates and real stories we can share.
