We are currently working in partnership with Surrey County Council to deliver on their vision for quality CQC Registered/Regulated Short Breaks for people with Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs, through the development of two state of the art, purpose built overnight services in Woking and Banstead. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, committed and experienced Registered Manager to join our Short Breaks team at Surrey Choices based at Emily Lodge in Woking.

The Registered Manager will assume responsibility for the operational management of the Short Breaks service in Woking, ensuring continued compliance with all relevant legislation. Working with the Executive and Senior Management Teams you will ensure the provision of high quality, outcome focused support which enables individuals and ensures organisational priorities are met in accordance with available resources. You will assist the Registered Manager of Short Breaks Banstead and the Operations Director in the project management of the relocation of part of the current Short Breaks (Woking) service to a new purpose built site in Banstead in summer 2026. Ongoing partnership work with the Registered Manager of the Banstead site to meet objectives.

What we would like from you:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health & Social Care or the equivalent.
  • Care Certificate knowledge of CQC Regulations.
  • Supervisory experience in a health and social care setting.
  • Relevant experience in an operational management capacity in a health and social care setting.
  • Experience of managing and developing an effective team, including recruitment, training, supporting and supervising staff.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload and that of your team effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Experience of undertaking customer assessments and facilitating the implementation of personalised and outcome focused support plans.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the current legal responsibilities and standards of the service, including the need for the management and delivery of person centred support that promotes independence, choice and privacy of the client.
  • Experience of building positive working relationships with clients, their families, staff and other health and social care professionals.
  • Able to work under pressure, be positive and adaptable.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
