It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe. The guiding principle and focus of the Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) Department is to provide better services to front-line officers, staff, and support functions to enable both forces to maintain their commitment to the public.
Our DDaT Department is currently comprised of approximately 250 people; you would be joining a team that is committed to the continuous development of our digital capabilities to enable our colleagues to provide an effective response to our communities and to deal with the complexity of modern criminality through the exploitation of innovative technologies.
As the Performance Insights Analyst, you will be responsible for the ongoing development, integrity, and delivery of management information. This includes preparing it in the form of products and reports providing quantitative and qualitative analysis in support of the force’s strategy as well as other national, regional and local government requirements. Your work will play a key role in assessing the force’s performance in relation to the Force’s strategy for service delivery.
As the Performance Insights Analyst, you will:
- Ensure implementation of Force systems contain both the information required for appropriate statistical analysis and reporting of management information throughout Surrey Police, as well as that in accordance with government legislation.
- Whenever possible, promote the capture and accuracy of corporate data which can be automated via the data warehouse to produce Portal performance dashboards.
- Provide advice and guidance to staff at all levels within the organisation as to the choice of appropriate performance measures and techniques thereby helping ensure appropriate, proportionate and targeted use of management information to support strategic decisions.
- Work closely with intelligence colleagues within the unit to support the reduction of crime by profiling predicted increases throughout the year.
- Provide performance support for the priorities identified by the Police and Crime Commissioner.
- Representing the Performance Insights Team, provide performance updates at the monthly strand and/or cluster performance meetings.
- Undertake research and statistical analysis of thematic issues falling within the analyst’s portfolio.
- Ensure findings and subsequent recommendations are reported to relevant representatives within the Force.
- Give presentations, outlining findings and recommendations to senior departmental managers within Force and external audiences as appropriate.
- Assist in and/or undertake the auditing of management information to ensure the relevance, consistency, timeliness and quality of the data thereby assuring and maintaining data integrity of performance management information in accordance with local and national requirements.
- Manage the delivery and then subsequently confirm the accuracy of the data relating to items within the annual data requirement.
