The Role & Key Responsibilities

Are you a HR Generalist who would like the opportunity to provide expert first-line support and guidance to leaders in people management issues across both forces? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join the People Services People Resolution Centre Consultancy.

As a PRC Consultant you will be part of a consultancy team who is responsible for day-to-day delivery of a professional, customer faced service to leaders across both forces on a wide variety of people management related queries. In this role, you will be working closely with Line Managers, be that virtually or face to face, to provide expert help and guidance effectively and resolve demand at the earliest opportunity with the highest levels of professional service.

Within your portfolio of activity you could be supporting Leaders with people management disciplines ranging from various types of case work, to change programmes, strategic project work and much more. Your place of work will be Lewes or Guildford, and the successful candidate must be able to travel across Surrey and Sussex as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Problem solving: ability to evaluate the complexity of problems and identify and understand the root cause (using evidence, intel etc.). Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment, connecting the links to other business areas / issues. Ability to diagnose the cause, propose options for resolution and proactively deliver the solution themselves or through others.
  • Communication: confident communicator with an ability to engage quickly and build effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Ability to competently contract, influence and articulate options and recommendations in order to deliver tangible outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: ability to build and maintain professional and credible relationships. Ability to manage and work with professional conflict to achieve positive organisational outcomes.
  • Case Management: ability to support and guide leaders, at various levels, in managing cases relating to probation, attendance, performance, medical redeployment and grievances. You will be expected to hold a case load and liaise effectively with Union representatives.
  • Transformational Change: ability to lead through change and to proactively embed the culture of continuous improvement.
  • Project Management: competent understanding of managing projects; from identification, to scoping options, building the case for change and delivering recommendations.
  • System Management: ability to use and interrogate current and new systems. Sound understanding of People Services and the context in which it operates.

Qualifications: CIPD qualified or equivalent professional experience.
