Detective Constable Re-Joiner CID/Public Protection (Bluestone/Iris) Overview Role summary and key responsibilities for a Detective Constable re-joiner in CID/Public Protection (Bluestone/Iris).Responsibilities Be a risk manager who can make difficult decisions using the National Decision Model and THRIVE to understand the problem, assess risk and tackle the issues.Carry out proactive investigations into complex and serious crimes across the county with CID teams located in Brighton, Chichester, Crawley, Eastbourne, Hastings and Worthing.Work within the Bluestone and Iris Teams in the Public Protection Department to pursue those who target and exploit the most vulnerable; undertake specialist safeguarding and collaborate with partners to protect those at greatest risk.Deliver an outstanding service to victims, witnesses and the public, build trust and confidence, and manage investigations from initial contact through to evidence for court outcomes.Support a professional, healthy, diverse and inclusive workforce and contribute to modernisation efforts to raise service standards for local communities.Skills & Experience / Qualifications Have served in a Home Office Force or British Transport Police (BTP).Have completed your probation period and achieved independent patrol status prior to leaving the force.Have had no disciplinary, integrity or performance issues.Pass the necessary vetting, occupational health and fitness checks; these checks will not be carried out until after a successful interview.Be able to show commitment to achieving high levels of attendance and a demonstrated passion for Sussex Police.Not have an application with any other force at the same time.Have resided in the UK for three years immediately prior to submitting your application, or be able to provide a certificate of good conduct from the relevant country.Hold a full UK manual driving licence.Not be a current or previous member of a proscribed terrorist organisation or group.Declare any business interests and any membership or involvement with the reserve Forces.Not have tattoos that could reasonably cause offence; not have outstanding County Court Judgments (CCJs) or recent bankruptcies.Please complete and upload the training needs analysis form with your application.Why Work With Us?
