The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.
The Role & Key Responsibilities:
This post is a full time 24/7 shift position working a shift pattern 6 days on 4 days off. As a Force Research Bureau Operator and an expert point of contact for all matters involving the Police National Computer (PNC) within Sussex Police. The role also involves researching all Force systems together with Police National Computer, National Law Enforcement System and the Police National Database (PND). The team have sole responsibility for creating, updating and reviewing information on Police National Systems and provide a 24 hour service to Operational Policing. The team are subject matter experts and a point of contact supporting and advising Policing and Key Partner organisations.
Skills & Experience:
- Applicants must possess excellent IT skills and prove their ability to learn and interrogate systems.
- High level of IT skills including Microsoft software.
- Current experience of working with databases and spreadsheets.
- Able to analyse large amounts of information in differing formats and identify salient points in order to effectively summarise the key points in an objective way.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, together with good verbal and written communication.
- Maintain a high degree of integrity when dealing with sensitive and classified information.
- Flexible & adaptable approach to work and be able to work independently and be resilient to working in a busy environment.
