Exciting opportunities have arisen within our Emergency Department for band 5 Staff Nurse’s. The department has had several exciting developments including a new resuscitation room and dynamic CT scanner. These have helped ensure that we are at the forefront of emergency care, delivering optimum services for trauma patients and CVA pathways, as well as other emergencies.

Successful applicants will benefit from our new starter pathway which includes supernumerary shifts in all areas followed by a robust buddy system to ensure consistency and support for as long as required. These arrangements will enable you to develop a range of clinical skills and competencies which will support your career in emergency care.

You will need to show a basic understanding of both local and national initiatives in order to help the department meet the Emergency Care Four Hour Standard, whilst ensuring the delivery of high standards of nursing care. You will have the opportunity to enhance and develop your skills through preceptorship and formal educational development within this busy dynamic area.

We are currently in the process of ensuring a rotation programme for all staff within the department to enhance clinical practice through our minors resuscitation and sub-acute areas.
