Joint Community Rehabilitation and Falls Prevention Service (JCR) Band 5 Occupational Therapist as per Job Description.
Welcome to East Sussex, a place that boasts a beautiful coastline, beaches and the South Downs National Park. Close to Brighton and rail links to London. Come and join our friendly, sociable, experienced team working within an integrated Health and Social Care community rehabilitation service based in Bexhill, covering the Hastings and Rother area.
The Joint Community Rehabilitation and Falls Prevention Service is an integrated, jointly funded service by ASC and the NHS. ESHT provides the rehabilitation, and we work with our ESCC colleagues who provide short term care whilst supporting the client’s rehabilitation programme. JCR is a short-term 7 day service which assesses and treats people within their own homes. Our service aims to prevent unnecessary admissions to hospital or long-term care, enable earlier discharges from hospital and promote independence and quality of life.
The ability to travel around the county in a timely fashion is essential. Weekends are covered on a rota basis, and at present, includes one weekend day approximately every 8 weeks with a day off during the week.

You will be part of a friendly, supportive, professional integrated team which includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Falls Practitioners, a nurse, podiatrist and Rehabilitation Support Workers, using an inter-professional model of working. We key work and provide rehabilitation to adults with a variety of medical and surgical conditions, and we support palliative care.
You will be fully supported to develop your occupational therapy and inter-professional clinical skills, areas of special clinical interest, and there will be the opportunity to develop your supervisory and practice education opportunities depending on your level of experience. We offer regular supervision and training opportunities for professional development.
