Role Overview
The post holder will assist the multi-disciplinary team in the provision of high-quality, effective and compassionate family-centred maternity service; to ensure optimal care for women and babies and will work as part of the Maternity Improvement Team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and provide support and education to Maternity Support Workers from initial recruitment to induction and ongoing development, including assistance with education and training programs in both hospital and community settings.
- Role model high standards of clinical practice and leadership, ensuring that maternity support workers provide a high standard of practice based on current guidelines, policies, standards, and national competencies.
- Assist in the implementation of new guidelines, policies, and improvement initiatives in all areas of maternity.

Pay and Working Hours
Successful candidates will be appointed to the first pay step within the band when they start with the Trust (unless they have previous relevant NHS continuous service). Part‑time roles will receive a pro‑rata salary payment based on the appropriate pay step/point and hours worked in accordance with the NHS Agenda for Change and all medical and dental terms and conditions.
