An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electro-Medical Engineer to join a busy EME Services team maintaining the medical equipment across various sites of the Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. The successful applicant will be based at East Surrey Hospital and may work Trust-wide as required.
Responsibilities
- Provide a complete medical equipment management service including acceptance testing, planned preventive maintenance, calibration and equipment repair.
- Demonstrate good workshop skills including fault finding and corrective maintenance.
- Be self-motivated with a flexible approach, capable of working alone and contributing when working with others.
- Maintain excellent communication and IT skills, be well organised and able to develop effective working relationships with suppliers and Trust staff at all levels.
- Maintain high standards of safety and accountability.
- Inspect, maintain and repair a wide range of medical, diagnostic and therapeutic equipment across the Trust to ensure safe, effective and economical operation; the equipment covers electrical, electronic, mechanical, computer software and medical gases components.
- Work on clinical equipment in a sensitive environment with initiative and appropriate professional experience and technical qualifications.
- Communicate with clinical and technical colleagues, equipment manufacturers and suppliers as part of the role.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of HNC/HND or equivalent in an Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline, with experience in the electronic/electrical-mechanical field, preferably workshop based.
- Prior knowledge of medical devices/medical engineering is essential.
