Hello, we’re SURI (Sustainable Rituals) — we’re on a mission to radically transform oral care for people and planet, with beautiful everyday essentials designed for life. For like-minded individuals who already believe in the power of sustainable choices, we aim to create personal care products that are more sustainable, beautiful, and convenient alternatives. We seek to continually push the boundaries of what is possible and invite honest conversation on our collective journey.
Since launching our sustainable sonic toothbrush in 2022, we’ve delighted over 300k customers across the UK, Europe and US. In doing so, SURI has risen to become the highest-rated electric toothbrush on Trustpilot, while achieving B-Corp certification and securing listings in major US and UK retailers. As well as garnering widespread media attention, SURI has also picked up numerous prestigious industry awards including The Grocer Startup of the Year, Red Dot Design Award, and the Marie Claire Sustainability Award.
About the role: We’re in search of a Freelance Production Assistant to report into the Head of Creative to assist on photography shoots on an ongoing and flexible basis. You’ll mainly be involved in the admin, organisation and set-up of monthly photography shoots but will also be the ‘hands on the ground’ at the shoots themselves ensuring everything runs smoothly and allows our head of creative to focus more on creating amazing content.
What you’ll be doing:
- Prepping for the shoots: This includes booking shoot houses, models and arranging transport to/from the shoot, as well as supporting with prop and outfit sourcing, ordering/buying, collection and returns—including moving the supplies to and from the shoot location from SURI HQ.
- On the day of the shoot: On the day, you’ll also help with unpacking props/clothing, hanging, and steaming, assisting models with outfit changes, keeping track of clothing pieces and their packaging, repacking at the end of the day and managing returns when back to SURI HQ.
- After the Shoot: You’ll be responsible for collecting items and returning them to the office and returning any clothes used at the shoot for the company to get refunded.
Remote vs. On-site requirement: Shoot days will need to be on-site (along with collecting items and organising returns). Shoot prep can largely be executed remotely.
Hours, working location and remuneration:
- Frequency of work: 5-10 working days per month. These dates are planned in advance so there shouldn’t be many last minute requests (but some flexibility will be needed as we’re a fast growing start-up).
- Location: Our office is based in London Bridge, UK but shoots are offsite and often outside of London.
- Remuneration: We are offering London Living Wage for this position, the equivalent of £13.85 per hour.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience working to an art direction brief to support in concepting and styling props and outfits is desirable, but not necessary.
- An interest in production and creative roles.
- Strong organisation skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience and ability to efficiently and proactively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Confidence to work autonomously, and know when to escalate issues or questions.
Whether you’re a student or working part-time we’d love you to get in touch. A lot of the prep work can be done in advance but you’ll have to be in person for the shoots themselves and these can often be outside of London. You don’t need to drive but you do need the flexibility to be on multiple day shoots when we have them.
At SURI, we value diversity and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. We look for team members who will positively contribute to our dynamic, passionate culture and believe that an inclusive and diverse work environment is one in which we all thrive.
