Surge Group is seeking an experienced Head of Compliance & Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to join a fast-growing fintech and digital assets business. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the UK compliance framework while serving as the firm's MLRO. You'll work closely with senior leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, strengthen governance, and maintain an effective financial crime framework.
We're looking for someone who has already operated within an FCA-regulated environment and is comfortable taking ownership of regulatory engagement, compliance oversight, and AML responsibilities.
- Lead the UK compliance and financial crime framework.
- Oversee AML, CTF, sanctions, and regulatory compliance programmes.
- Manage regulatory relationships and support authorisation initiatives.
- Develop and enhance compliance monitoring programmes.
- Prepare and present compliance and governance reporting to senior management.
- Provide strategic regulatory guidance across the business.
- Lead regulatory change and remediation initiatives.
- Maintain strong governance, policies, and internal controls.
Significant experience within FCA-regulated financial services is required, along with previous experience as Head of Compliance, MLRO, Deputy MLRO, or similar senior compliance leadership role. A strong understanding of UK AML, financial crime, and regulatory frameworks is essential, as well as experience overseeing compliance monitoring and governance programmes.
