Applications open for new Surfing England Trainer Assessors

Following stages 1 and 2 roll out of our new Surf Instructor Award via our online learning platform and national network of Surfing England Trainer Assessors we are excited to again open applications for further Trainer Assessors (TAs) to be contracted by Surfing England, joining the current TA group around the country.

As part of our mission to help make surf coaching a more diverse and inclusive sector, we want to really encourage women and those from under-represented communities within surfing to apply. We are also particularly interested in applicants from regions/areas where we currently have less coverage. Following review of 2024 we are closely looking at supply and demand regionally and locally and interested to hear from you if you think you have interested prospective trainees who wish to train in your setting/at the surf centre you operate at in 2025.

Following the review we committed to creating our surf coaching training and awards programme, starting with a Surf Instructor Award, which was piloted early 2023 and is now live having successfully certified the first cohort of new Surfing England accredited instructors.

It is vital we have the right people working as Trainer Assessors, as they are individually and collectively responsible for the consistent and high standard of training and assessment of surf coaching candidates.
