Are you detail-oriented and data-savvy with excellent people skills and a passion for community fundraising? Join our growing Fundraising Team, raising approximately £4 million each year, to support the Community Fundraising function to help fund our ocean-saving campaigns. This role is an exciting opportunity to help develop and grow the Community Fundraising programme at Surfers Against Sewage (SAS), including stewarding our amazing supporters who take on their own fundraising challenges for us. A genuine enthusiasm for fundraising and SAS is a must, along with being comfortable adapting to the evolving needs of the role. You’ll work closely with, and be supported by, the Senior Community Fundraising Officer.
What you will be doing
- Stewardship
- Deliver ‘one-to-many’ stewardship to our fundraisers and be the main point of contact for them, providing an excellent supporter experience to build relationships, maximise their fundraising and increase likelihood of repeat fundraising.
- Gather fundraiser stories, photos and approvals to develop our library so we can inspire other fundraisers with our marketing.
- Keep accurate and updated records of fundraiser communications in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- General Admin Support
- Liaising with suppliers and obtaining quotes, ensuring best value for money.
- Stay up to date with SAS’s latest campaigns and projects to be able to speak and write knowledgeably about our work with supporters.
- Support office-based administration, including sending out fundraising packs.
- Carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by your line manager.
- Data and Systems
- Work with our new CRM system to improve processes and efficiencies with Community Fundraiser data.
- Create and update CRM records, and extract basic reports to inform plans and decisions.
- Work in partnership with the CRM team and Senior Community Fundraising Manager to develop and refine the supporter journey.
- Use Excel to compare supplier quotes, update project costs, and manipulate data exports.
- Support with general organisational / administrative practices.
- Adapt with the evolving needs of the role.
For this role, you will need
- Confident IT user, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Solid Excel capability: able to manipulate data, interpret numerical information and present it clearly.
- Highly organised, able to prioritise effectively and adapt to changing needs.
- Solutions‑focused problem solver with a flexible, can‑do approach.
