Role

We are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our growing Manufacturing Technology team. As Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will design, develop, launch & optimise new and existing core manufacturing processes in our automotive component factory. The individual will own and champion the industrialisation of equipment including the associated key process controls, including documentation (PFLOW, WI, CP, PFMEA) and training of the operations team to ensure the fulfilment of our customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management of small, medium, and large projects
  • Ensure that your processes have the capacity requirements to meet demand
  • Driving cost reduction activities while maintaining accurate cost records
  • Striving to eliminate waste from your processes
  • Design, develop and implement technical solutions to industrialise and control the manufacturing process
  • Develop standard methods of producing products by utilising findings from research, knowledge of the product, expense information and company goals
  • Write, maintain and control process specifications for your processes
  • Create specifications for new equipment, ensuring they meet the Performance, Quality and financial targets required
  • Implement the necessary level of industrialisation to ensure error-proofing, process sequence/integrity and capability
  • Lead VSM activities including MIFA and MIFD for Material flow
  • Perform Line balancing and optimisation with Yamazumi and/or other recognised tools
  • Generate accurate and robust acceptance criteria and plans for existing and new equipment, ensuring all sign off documentation is completed and handed over to long term stakeholder(s)
  • Responsible for control documentation including WI, Process flow, PFMEA, process specifications etc
  • Develop alternative methods of making manufacturing practices more efficient and cost effective; look at space constraints, material requirements and energy performance
  • Produce product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends using SPC and other relevant tools

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Excellent time management skills with a target driven approach
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently and within a team
  • Technically adept at applying engineering principles to understand and deliver results
  • Hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of Lean manufacturing
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Flexible approach with excellent organisational and administrative skills

Need to have

  • A relevant Engineering degree
  • Min 5 years of experience in Automotive or similar Engineering manufacturing role

Nice to have

  • Certified lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Quality auditing qualifications and experience
  • Experience with furnaces and high temperature applications or CNC machining
  • Experience in SAP Business One / Beas
  • PTC Creo / Flowsim / Edgecam / CNC Programming
