We are looking for an experienced Furnace Engineer with a passion for leadership and mentoring. We are looking for a Furnace Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience to lead a team of dedicated furnace technicians in a high-performance manufacturing environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of furnace operations, drive preventative maintenance, and be the go-to expert when things heat up—literally.
What you’ll be doing as our Furnace Engineering Supervisor:
- Lead & Organise a team of furnace technicians, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Coach & Mentor technicians, sharing your knowledge and building team capability.
- Plan Preventative Maintenance to keep our high-temperature furnaces running reliably.
- Respond to Breakdowns with urgency and expertise, coordinating fast and effective repairs.
- Be Contactable Out of Hours to guide and support technicians when urgent issues arise.
- Drive Continuous Improvement in furnace performance, safety, and reliability.
- Work Hands-On with both vacuum and non-vacuum furnace systems.
The Skills, Knowledge and Experience you will need as our Furnace Engineering Supervisor:
- 10+ years’ experience working with high-temperature furnaces (vacuum and non-vacuum).
- Strong technical knowledge of furnace systems and maintenance practices.
- Proven leadership or mentoring experience in a technical environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and a calm head under pressure.
Nice to have:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Familiarity with CMMS or other maintenance planning tools.
