We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Group FP&A Analyst to join our finance team. In this role, you will be pivotal in driving financial planning, cost optimisation, and operational efficiency across the Suretank Group. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production, operations, and senior management, to deliver accurate financial insights and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Prepare, deliver, and maintain budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term strategic plans for the organisation. Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, cash flow analysis, and strategic decision-making. Analyse profit and loss performance, identify variances and recommend corrective actions to ensure financial and operational targets are achieved. Partner with leadership to provide strategic and ad hoc financial analysis, including loan funding, acquisitions, and capital expenditure evaluations. Analyse manufacturing costs to identify inefficiencies and recommend cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with operational teams to optimise resource allocation and improve cost-effectiveness. Support value-engineering initiatives and cost-reduction projects across functions and business units.
  • Variance Analysis & Reporting: Conduct variance analysis to track actual performance against budgeted figures, focusing on exception reporting. Prepare and present comprehensive financial and operational reports for senior leadership and board meetings. Enhance management information reporting tools and ensure effective implementation across teams.
  • Business Partnering: Partner with production, operational, and sales teams to provide real-time financial insights and support decision-making. Monitor labour, materials, and overhead costs for specific projects or products. Provide commercial support to the sales and estimating teams during bid preparation and contract negotiations.
  • CRM Reporting & Analysis: Develop and maintain CRM (Customer Relationship Management) reports to track sales performance, customer profitability, and market trends. Analyse CRM data to identify opportunities for revenue growth and customer retention. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align financial insights with customer relationship strategies. Monitor and analyse inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels while minimising carrying costs. Collaborate on inventory forecasting models to align with production schedules and customer demand. Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and recommend strategies for liquidation or repurposing. Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to improve inventory turnover and reduce waste.
  • Job Profitability Analysis: Conduct in-depth profitability analysis for specific projects or jobs, identifying key drivers of financial performance. Present findings and recommendations to project managers and senior leadership to inform strategic decisions.
  • Financial Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements. Assist in the preparation of financial audits by providing accurate documentation and reports. Establish and maintain a centralized repository for all financial and operational reports, ensuring easy access and version control. Implement and enforce version control protocols to maintain the accuracy and consistency of reports across the organisation. Develop and maintain a reporting roadmap to prioritise and streamline report generation, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs. Regularly review and optimise existing reports to eliminate redundancy and improve efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize reporting formats and ensure data consistency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field from a recognised institution.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA) is essential.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of post-qualification experience in financial planning, budgeting, and cost control within a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Strong expertise in financial modelling, decision support, and strategic financial analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, T-SQL) and CRM platforms is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex financial insights and recommendations.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to deliver results on time.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships, influence decisions, and lead initiatives.
