About the role
Lead the delivery of domestic gas installation programmes, including boiler replacements, heating system upgrades, and planned investment works. You'll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in full compliance with industry regulations and quality standards.
What you’ll be doing
- Work closely with contractors, operational teams, and residents, oversee the day-to-day management of installation programmes, driving high performance, excellent customer service, and continuous improvement.
- Play a key role in monitoring compliance, managing contractor performance, and ensuring residents receive a first-class service throughout every project.
- Lead a team of installation engineers, supervisors, and contractors, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to drive performance and foster a culture of accountability, safety, and customer focus.
- Manage contractor relationships, monitor performance, and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and value for money.
- Use performance data and operational insight to continuously enhance service delivery while ensuring compliance remains at the forefront of everything you do.
The postholder will have proven experience managing gas installation programmes within social housing, local authority, or another regulated environment, coupled with a strong track record of leading teams and delivering results. You'll be a confident communicator with the ability to motivate others, manage competing priorities, and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
What we’re looking for
- Valid domestic and/or commercial gas qualifications. As a minimum, successful candidates must have the following: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 essential.
- Full UK driving licence essential.
- Proven experience managing gas installation programmes within social housing, local authority, or a regulated housing environment essential.
- Strong knowledge of gas safety legislation, compliance, and best practice.
- Experience managing contractors and budgets.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
