We are seeking a gas qualified area supervisor to join our busy heating service & repair team.
Overview of Role: This role is pivotal in delivering efficient and effective heating system surveys and installations for our clients. The individual will conduct in-depth assessments of domestic properties, ensuring all heating solutions recommended meet regulatory standards and align with the customer's needs and budget considerations. The role demands a combination of technical expertise, customer service, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of operatives and provide technical support, encouragement, and training for engineers to deliver an agreed volume of completed jobs per week.
- Provide a “Technical Section” during structured monthly toolbox talk meetings, including updates and issues identified in completed quality checks.
- Encourage understanding of the need for Quality of Work and professional attitudes for future development of the business.
- Become a key contact for clients to assist in developing relations and resolving problematic jobs, including site visits and providing a technical overview.
- Ensure Clients' contractual and specific requirements are met and where possible surpassed.
- Communicate Company procedures and Client requirements to operatives through daily contact and structured monthly Toolbox Talks.
- Support the Regional Manager & Head of Region with training requirements and technical support for existing engineers and new starter induction processes.
- Work closely with the Head of SHEQ, act as a champion to the Sureserve Compliance Central Competency Scheme, maintaining records and identifying training needs.
- Ensure engineers participate in the collection of competence evidence and allocate work within their scope of competencies.
- Carry out Quality Checks and Health and Safety audits to a pre-determined target volume.
- Cover for the role of Regional Manager as required.
- Assist in investigation processes associated with disciplinary and grievance situations.
Required Attributes:
- Relevant Industry Qualifications: NVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilation or equivalent. ACS accreditations, including CCN1 and CENWAT or equivalent, are preferable.
- Experience: Demonstrable practical experience in heating system surveys or domestic installation projects.
- Customer Focus: Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Detail-Oriented: Proven ability to deliver accurate and detailed survey reports.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Driving License: Full UK driving license is essential.
