Fire Maintenance Engineer – South West & South East London

Role overview:
This role involves maintaining and servicing life safety equipment, emergency lighting, and smoke vent systems in accordance with British & European standards, including BS5839.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform planned and reactive maintenance of contracts
2. Service and maintain emergency lighting systems
3. Respond to emergency callouts and undertake remedial works
4. Verify assets and install replacement or additional equipment
5. Conduct site surveys as needed
6. Support apprentice development
7. Maintain professionalism and client consideration
8. Participate in call-out rota (1 night in 10)

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience in fire maintenance
• Knowledge of BS 5839 and BS 5266 standards
• FIA units (1, 3, 5)
• Valid driving license

Working Environment:
This is a site-based position involving collaboration with support teams and clients. The role combines on-site work with regular communication with office staff, requiring proactive client engagement and excellent customer service.

• Salary £34,000 – £38,000, with overtime and standby leading to an OTE of £50,000 – £65,000
