We are seeking a reliable, customer-focused
Solar PV Engineers
to join our field operations team in Oxford and the surrounding areas.
You will be responsible for attending domestic properties to inspect, diagnose, and repair solar PV installations. You will play a crucial role in maintaining system safety, maximizing efficiency, and delivering exceptional service to homeowners.
Key Responsibilities
Attend customer properties to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve electrical and mechanical issues on domestic PV systems. Perform detailed visual and electrical inspections on solar panels, mounting hardware, DC/AC isolators, cabling, inverters, and associated equipment. Safely replace faulty inverters, isolators, panels, and associated hardware. Assist with or manage the safe removal and reinstatement of solar modules where roofing repairs or system alterations are required. Carry out fundamental electrical testing and operational system checks following repairs to ensure optimal efficiency and compliance with safety standards. Accurately complete digital service sheets, upload site photographs, generate clear job reports, and identify any additional remedial works needed. Liaise directly with homeowners on-site, delivering clear communication, professional service, and minimal disruption. Adhere strictly to company health and safety protocols, safe isolation practices, and industry standards (including Working at Height). Requirements & Skills
Proven experience carrying out maintenance, repairs, or installations on domestic Solar PV systems. Recognized electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, 18th Edition / BS 7671). Dedicated Solar PV qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2399, LOGIC, or equivalent) is highly desirable. Valid UK Driving Licence (essential for field service travel). Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with a polite, professional customer-facing manner. What We Offer
