SureScreen Scientifics Ltd is a leader in ecological laboratory analysis. The impressive 1740's Georgian house, only 10 minutes from Derby, surrounded by beautiful gardens, orchard & beehives, has been renovated over the last 10 years to a busy state of the art scientific laboratory. We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail to join us for a 3 month fixed term contract for our seasonal peak with a possibility of contract extension or permanent position.
Job Purpose
To be the organisational anchor of the laboratory during peak seasonal demand, ensuring smooth, efficient operations, coordinating administration, supporting colleagues, and delivering a professional, responsive service to customers.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Receive and book in customer samples into the laboratory using the internal jobs database, performing critical checks to identify sample issues, confirm customer details, verify dates and deadlines, and ensure paperwork is complete and well organised to support efficient laboratory workflows.
- Act as a point of contact for customer enquiries, making phone calls and providing support such as reissuing reports, confirming sample status, finding samples locations and processing sample upgrades in a professional and timely manner.
- Input sample results into the jobs database accurately, ensuring reports are generated and issued to customers without delay.
- Maintain high standards of quality and compliance across all administrative and laboratory-facing activities.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment.
- Provide flexible support to other areas of the business during periods of increased demand, contributing to smooth operations during peak workloads.

The position is a zero hour contract with expected and timetabled hours of 30 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.30am-3pm. Note: if you would prefer different working hours, please get in touch and we may be able to accommodate.
