Are you looking for a new challenge? Surepath Homes are opening their first children's home in Sheffield and are seeking Senior Residential Support workers to support the operational running of the home. As a qualified and experienced support worker, you will support the management team to deliver high quality child centred residential care. You will lead shifts and supervise junior members of the team maintaining strong safeguarding and operational excellence. This role involves shift working, which includes evenings, weekends and sleep-in (overnight) cover.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Registered / Deputy Manager with day-to-day operations and compliance.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff members.
- Ensure high standards of safeguarding and welfare.
- Contribute to care planning and progress reviews for each young person.
- Manage incidents and emergencies effectively.
About You
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a children’s home.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and children’s legislation.
- Strong understanding of child development, attachment, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Positive, proactive, and able to model appropriate behaviour for both young people and staff.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the home.
