Are you looking for a new challenge? Surepath Homes are opening their first children’s home in Sheffield and are seeking Residential Support workers to support the operational running of the home. You will support the team to deliver high quality child centered residential care, maintaining strong safeguarding and operational excellence while presenting as a good role model to our looked after children. This role involves shift working, which includes evenings, weekends and sleep-in (overnight) cover.
Key Responsibilities
- Build trusting, positive relationships with children and young people to promote emotional wellbeing and stability.
- Support young people with daily routines, education, health, and recreational activities.
- Promote independence and life skills, tailored to each young person’s needs and abilities.
- Provide consistent boundaries and behaviour support using trauma-informed and child-centred approaches.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all young people, reporting concerns immediately in line with safeguarding policies.
About You
- Experience of working or volunteering with children / young people (desired).
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
- Some understanding of child development, attachment, and trauma-informed approaches.
- A willingness to undertake training and qualifications in line with the role.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the home.
