Due to progressive growth, an opportunity has become available for a senior and experienced H&S Manager to join our QHSE team based from either our Royton, Hartlebury, Pavenham, or Wokingham facilities.
- In this strategically important and challenging role will be required to:
- Lead and develop the Group Health & Safety strategy and culture across all group sites.
- Maintain H&S systems, ensuring full compliance with current UK HSE legislation and relevant ISO standards.
- Act as the Groups competent person for Health and Safety, advising Directors under the HSWA:1974.
- Manage our digitised H&S platform, reviewing and updating RAMS, safety policies, and site procedures.
- Develop and manage contractor control processes and permit-to-work systems, including high-risk activities such as hot works and confined spaces.
- Conduct audits and multi-site inspections to ensure compliance, identify hazards and ensure high welfare standards.
- Perform detailed risk assessments and develop effective control measures to prevent accidents.
- Lead incident investigations, near-miss and root cause analysis to implement effective corrective measures.
- Drive a consistent and positive safety culture across all sites, embedding behavioural standards and accountability.
- Maintain company accreditations and act as the primary contact for H&S regulators, bodies and stakeholders.
- Single shift pattern; with contracted hours that are site specific.
- The Person
The successful candidate will be a credible, senior H&S professional with experience operating across multi-site manufacturing environments, who can balance compliance with practical delivery and will therefore possess the following attributes:
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety management role ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) is essential; chartered IOSH membership is preferred.
- Strong understanding of UK safety legislation and experience in maintaining ISO 45001/14001 systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing all levels of the business
- A hands-on, proactive, and resilient professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be flexible in approach and be responsive to changing demands and situations.
- Strong leadership presence with the confidence to challenge at all levels
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, pragmatic approach
