Key Responsibilities

  • Home Management & Leadership
Take full operational responsibility for a home when required (e.g. during a Home Manager vacancy, annual leave, or transitional period). Lead the home’s team to deliver outstanding, person-centred care and maintain regulatory compliance. Act as CQC or CIW registered manager where necessary during cover periods. Create a positive, open, and high-performing culture, in line with the company’s values. Ensure financial, staffing, and quality targets are achieved while maintaining excellent standards of care.

Carry out compliance audits and action plans across all homes in line with the company’s quality framework. Work with the CEO to maintain and exceed CQC/CIW standards and inspection readiness. Identify risks and drive improvement plans to strengthen care quality and governance. Lead on infection control, safeguarding, and health & safety standards.
  • Operational & Regional Support
Support the CEO and Regional Manager’s in implementing operational processes and performance improvements across homes. Collaborate with HR, recruitment, and facilities teams to ensure homes run efficiently and safely. Support with onboarding and mobilisation of new homes or services within the group.
  • Technology & Systems
Use and champion the company’s digital systems and platforms to manage care delivery, audits, HR, and reporting. Encourage team engagement with technology to streamline operations and enhance accountability. Report findings, compliance data, and performance insights clearly and efficiently through company systems.
  • People Management
Lead, mentor, and develop management and care teams to build strong, competent, and motivated workforces. Support with recruitment, disciplinary processes, and performance reviews when required. Promote a culture of openness, responsibility, and continuous improvement.
  • Character & Conduct
Demonstrate honesty, reliability, and integrity in all dealings with staff, residents, and the senior leadership team. Take ownership of decisions and outcomes, while being comfortable reporting into senior management and working collaboratively. Be approachable, respectful, and professional at all times, setting a high standard for others to follow. Remain calm, solution-focused, and organised under pressure.

Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Registered Manager or Peripatetic/Home Manager within a care home environment. Excellent knowledge of CQC (England) and/or CIW (Wales) regulations and inspection frameworks. Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to adapt to different home environments. Confident using technology and digital systems (e.g. electronic care planning, HR platforms, compliance tools). Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care Management (or willingness to work towards). Active NMC registration desirable but not essential. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to all company homes.

Personal Qualities
Organised, efficient, and detail-oriented. Tech-savvy and confident using digital tools. Honest, dependable, and of good character. Comfortable being accountable and reporting to senior management. Takes full ownership of tasks and outcomes. Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
